History

The Journey of Our Department

Department of Plant Pathology was established in 1943. It was originally included in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology and provided a teaching service as a part of agricultural program in the Faculty of Agriculture. The programs that offered in the initial phase are five-year course for bachelor’s degree and three-year course for diploma.
In 1966, there was newly rearranged of government division in the Faculty of Agriculture. The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology was transformed into the Subject Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
In 1967, there was a new program for the graduate student.
In 1968, the bachelor program was changed from 5 years to 4 years.
In 1969, the name was changed from subject department to department
In 1975, the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology was divided and assigned as the Department of Entomology and the Department of Plant Pathology.
In 1979, the teaching activities of our department was started at Kamphaeng Saen campus, Nakhon Pathom Province. The 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students at the end of the academic year 1978 were the first generation.
In 2003, the Faculty of Agriculture was divided into 2 faculties: the Faculty of Agriculture, Bang Khen Campus and the Faculty of Agriculture, Kamphaeng Saen Campus and the Department of Plant Pathology was located in both faculties, the Department of Plant Pathology, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Department of Plant Pathology, the Faculty of Agriculture, Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
At present, the Department of Plant Pathology offers programs leading to the degrees of B.S. Agricultural Science (Plant Pathology), M.S. (Plant Pathology) and Ph.D. (Plant Pathology). The department has also taken part in other undergraduate and graduate programs in the Faculty of Agriculture such as Agriculture Chemistry and Tropical Agriculture programs.
